Last cycle Bitcoin kept making new highs, and every time it corrected into a choppy stretch the altcoins gave everything back. I round-tripped all of my altcoin gains three times doing that.
So the rule for this cycle is fixed and it is not a feeling. I will not hold any altcoin longer than three months. If one pumps, I take profit inside a month and rotate it into Bitcoin. If it does nothing for three months, I sell it anyway and rotate into Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only thing I hold for the whole run.
That costs me the occasional 100x, because almost nothing goes 100x inside three months. It also means I stop handing the gains back, and the 10x moves are plentiful enough to be worth catching. The exit for the whole book is mechanical too: when Bitcoin loses the cycle's pivot moving...
