BlackRock filed for a spot Bitcoin ETF on June 15, 2023, with a record of 575 ETF approvals against one rejection. Bloomberg's ETF analysts moved the odds of approval from about one percent to fifty. Grayscale won its case more than two months later, and that ruling vacated one rejection and sent one application back. It did not order the SEC to approve GBTC, and it did not order the SEC to approve BlackRock, Fidelity, Bitwise or anyone else.
