Video Description

Twenty-five years ago, Cory Klippsten was 23 and worked on the 64th floor of Tower Two of the World Trade Center.

On the morning of September 11, 2001, he was running late. He came up out of the subway at Wall Street and saw his own building on fire.

This is what he remembers, and what he learned afterward: the commute he loved, the morning itself, Rick Rescorla and the evacuation drills, why nearly every Morgan Stanley employee in the complex got out, the years he spent not dealing with any of it, and how he eventually found reasons to care about the future again.

Recorded in lower Manhattan, where the towers stood.
